About the Prints

I offer prints on several different kinds of media, including traditional photographic paper, canvas, and functional art on selected hard surfaces.

Traditional Photographic Prints
All my prints are produced on an Epson Pro Graphics printer using archival ink. Today’s highly sophisticated ink jet printers enable printing on more exotic media. They produce prints that come closer to reproducing the broad range of light and color, seen by the human eye, but not reproduced by film or silver halide based papers.

These traditional photographic prints are offered loose (only available from website), matted, matted and framed, or as stretched canvas with a thin floating frame around the image.
Matted & Framed
Mats are acid free and archival. Frames are made from poplar, walnut, or oak. I make each frame by hand, custom fit to each individual photograph. If you are interested in framed or matted artwork, please contact me directly via email to discuss options and pricing, or, if you're in the area, visit one of the local art festivals I will be attending this year.

Loose Prints
Loose prints (i.e. not mounted, matted, or framed) are not sold at the shows, but can be purchased from my web site. They are available from 4x6 to 24x36. These are processed by a highly reputable lab and sent directly to you.

Canvas Prints
Images printed on canvas have become a very popular addition to what is offered at the Art Shows. These are also printed with the Epson Pro-Graphics printer using archival inks. The canvas is then spray coated with a clear water based varnish, which protects the image and increases the longevity of the print. Life expectancy is rated similar to the traditional photographic prints.

I currently use two framing presentations. In both cases the prints are stretched over and stapled to a white wood frame. For the largest pieces, a floating frame of about ¼ inch thick is attached to the sides to give the piece a finished look. I also offer the option of a rustic oak frame in a shadow box presentation.

Canvas prints may be purchased from both website and through email or art show, however the technique and description listed above is available only directly through me. For more information about canvas prints, and some examples of the work that I offer, please visit the Canvas Prints page.

Images on Tile and Other Hard Surfaces
These are made by a process called dye sublimation. Images are printed on special papers with inks that, when heated to high temperature under pressure, pass directly from a solid state to a gas and then bond with the solid substrate. The result is a clear, sharp image with vivid colors on a rigid object. These products have been referred to as functional art objects, some example of which include:

- Tile murals
- Trivets with tile insert
- Coasters
- Keepsake Boxes with tiled top
- Candle holders
- Framed tiles
- Glass ornaments

In order to offer my customers the highest quality product at the most attractive price, these items must be purchased at the art shows or by contacting me directly.
